5th Grade Math with Paul Klee
I can take Paul Klee's idea of hiding a message in an artwork, using the multiples of twelve for my own artwork.
Paul Klee (18 December 1879 – 29 June 1940 - age of 60) was a Swiss-German artist. He was one of the most famous painters of the 20th century. His work was influenced by Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism. He was also very interested in the theory of color. He painted objects that encouraged people to feel emotions rather than painting a realistic object. He liked to paint with as few lines as possible. Sometimes the objects or people he painted looked more like colors and shapes rather than the real thing. This art is called abstract art!
"A line is a dot that went for a walk"
Paul Klee
Sir Isaac Newton created “color theory.” He invented the Color Wheel in 1666. Color Theory merges science and art for visual effects. It is a guide for mixing colors, and combining them for desired visual effects.
Translations of the poem: ("Einst dem Grau der nacht entaucht . . .") -- Once emerged from the gray of night / Heavier and dearer and stronger / Than the fire of the night / Drunk with God and doubled over. / At present ethereal / Surrounded by blue / Soaring over the glaciers / Toward the wise constellations.
